Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NearField collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the NearField website, licensing portal, admin portal, downloadable applications, browser client, updates, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Summary

NearField is built for user-controlled remote monitoring paths. NearField's cloud services are used for the website, downloads, licensing, billing integrations, emails, update manifests, and aggregate web telemetry. NearField does not currently operate a hosted relay for your program audio, video, comms audio, talkback audio, or production media streams.

2. Information We Collect

Account, licensing, and billing metadata

We may collect your email address, license key, license status, seat count, activated device records, activation/deactivation timestamps, heartbeat timestamps, Paddle customer IDs, Paddle subscription IDs, Paddle subscription status, and related audit events.

Device and app metadata

When the NearField app activates, validates, or heartbeats a license, it may send device name, a device fingerprint, app version, operating system name and version, architecture, and license state. This helps us enforce seat limits, show active devices, warn about version mismatches, and support customers.

Website and portal telemetry

The NearField website records aggregate route-level page views, such as home, releases, portal, admin, and release notes. This telemetry is designed for coarse product and support visibility. It does not store full URLs, raw IP addresses, user-agent strings, or user-level browsing profiles. The telemetry script respects browser Do Not Track signals where available.

Emails and support communications

If you request a licensing portal link, admin link, support help, or receive a license key email, we and our email provider may process email address, delivery status, message IDs, timestamps, and message content. If you contact support, we process the information you choose to provide.

Local app data

NearField may store local preferences, licensing state, update settings, selected devices, session files, logs, and recordings on your device according to app settings and operating-system behavior. Local session recordings and logs are not automatically uploaded to NearField cloud services unless a future feature explicitly says so.

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

NearField does not intentionally collect the content of your program audio, comms audio, talkback audio, video feed, NDIĀ® sources, recordings, or production media through NearField cloud services. Your media transport path is between the server/client/browser endpoints you configure.

Paddle handles payment card details and payment processing. NearField does not receive or store full credit card numbers.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Operate the website, releases page, update manifest, licensing portal, and admin portal.
  • Create, validate, renew, revoke, and support NearField licenses.
  • Enforce device seat limits and show activated devices.
  • Send license keys, sign-in links, support messages, and operational notices.
  • Detect licensing abuse, fraud, payment issues, webhook failures, and security events.
  • Understand aggregate website usage and release adoption.
  • Improve NearField reliability, compatibility, support workflows, and customer experience.

5. Service Providers

We use service providers to operate NearField. These providers process information on our behalf or as independent providers according to their own terms and privacy practices:

  • Firebase and Google Cloud for hosting, functions, authentication, storage, Firestore, and logs.
  • Paddle for checkout, billing, tax handling, subscription management, and payment processing.
  • Resend for transactional email delivery.
  • Apple platform services for macOS signing, notarization, operating-system permissions, and app behavior.

6. Cookies, Local Storage, And Authentication

NearField portals use Firebase Authentication email links. The website and portals may use browser storage to complete sign-in, remember temporary portal state, or keep user preferences. Paddle checkout and billing pages may use their own cookies or storage when you interact with Paddle.

7. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers, when required by law, to protect NearField and users, to investigate abuse or security issues, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

8. Retention

We keep licensing, billing metadata, audit events, and support records for as long as needed to operate the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and support customers. Inactive or revoked license/device records may remain visible for billing and support history. Aggregate telemetry may be retained for product and operational trend analysis.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and NearField cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

10. Your Choices

You can manage activated devices through the NearField Licensing Portal. You can unsubscribe from beta updates inside the app settings. You may use browser controls to limit storage or enable Do Not Track where supported. You can contact support to request help accessing, correcting, or deleting personal information where applicable.

11. International Use

NearField is operated using cloud services that may process information in the United States and other countries. By using NearField, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than where you live.

12. Children

NearField is intended for professional and commercial production use. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as posting an updated policy on the website or surfacing notice in the app.

Privacy questions or requests can be sent to support@nearfield.ch.
